iTunes Review

The 11th full-length studio album from Third Day plays more like a greatest-hits compilation; out of all 12 songs here, not one sounds like filler. “Hit Me Like a Bomb” detonates with Mark Lee’s tube amp blasting distorted guitar riffs, balanced with twangy leads, as Mac Powell’s gritty voice coos a catchy, sing-along melody. The chorus of “I Believe in You” is just as infectious, though the song is a slower paced one that muses on faith through gospel-influenced refrain. Producer Brendan O'Brien’s past work with Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver, Train, and Neil Young’s Mirror Ball seeps into the mix with post-grunge aplomb. Even songs with barbed radio-pop hooks, like “Kicking and Screaming” sound enveloped in the bygone sound of early-‘90s Seattle. The standout single “I Need a Miracle” tugs on the heartstrings with blue-collar based narratives, à la Bruce Springsteen—including a chorus that’s anthemic without overdoing it. They cleverly close with a rocking cover of the 1931 hymn “Morning Has Broken” that’s worthy of lighter-hoisting.

Not Christian? Listen to the lyrics!!!!!

I do not usually review albums but the one star review on here really disturbed me. If you do not like third day's music that is fine and you are entitled to your own opinion. As someone who loves country, rock, and "Christian" music third day is the perfect mix. But Just because the words "Jesus" and "cross" are not in every song does not mean it is not God-honoring music.

Why do you think that some people hate Christianity? Because some Christians try to shove the gospel down their throat without first getting to know them or leading by example. So keep it up Mac Powell and third day you are doing an awesome job! One can look at any third day song and see that these guys desire to bring a message that points to Christ blatantly or makes you think about the harder points of life and faith which we all go through. Oh and by the way this album sounds AMAZING.

That's what makes third day unique. You get great music by any standard coupled with an uplifting message

Miracle Manifested

"Miracle" is one of the best albums from Third Day in a long time. I've been spinning this disc since early October and truly love the refreshingly different sound. You'll hear harmonies that soar, music that surprises and vocals that will have you singing along. This is the Third Day vibe you've grown to love with an even brighter light of God's love. Buy this album for yourself, for friends, for Christmas, for any occassion! Go on a new journey with old friends and discover Miracle.

Did it again….

I will start by saying I am totally biased when it comes to Third Day. Been a HUGE fan since they showed up on the scene in the 1990's. This album is quite different but in a great way. Can't pick a favorite song because each time I listen it changes. Can hardly wait to hear these songs live in concert! My boys did it again GREAT album!

Influenced by the Southern rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd and other artists such as U2 and Rich Mullins, Third Day were originally formed by vocalist Mac Powell and acoustic guitarist Mark Lee. The duo added bassist Tai Anderson and drummer David Carr from another local band, and recorded some demos. Third Day's live shows gradually built them a loyal fan base, and just after lead guitarist Brad Avery joined, the band signed to Gray Dot Records. Their eponymous debut followed in 1996, with Conspiracy No....
