I actually own this album but i thought that i should share my thoughts with itunes.. This band is definatley for the techcore lovers, the vocalist is more of a hardcore singer which i do indeed like and you should too. The guitars play at some high speeds at parts but slow it back down to create more of a melody. The very first song "Venomspreader" starts out with some smooth melodic guitar then just blasts you away with a swift beat. I am very suprised by how far this band has come. Some suggestions would be, Misanthropy Pure, Four Earths, Set Your Body Ablaze, and of course Venomspreader. Good job Shai Hulud!

Worth the wait.

I have to say as a long time shai hulud fan that this record is brutal. I mean the new singer sounds great and very much keeps that shai hulud sound intact. The higher quality production also help alot, i feel shai hulud is the type of band that you wanna really hear all the diffrent instruments. Overall no bad songs all rock and if you even remotely like shai hulud you would be making a big mistake by not picking this one up!

I can't believe it's not butter

Because honestly, I've loved every single Shai Hulud album regardless of their singer until now. Their new singer is too...bland. The music's still the same great composition and energy you expect from the Hulud, but the singer sounds like your average, boring cookie monster metal singer. What made all the singers past so dynamic was that they all had great tone and style, varying their screams. The new guy's just so monotonous and RAWR-ish. Boring in my opinion. And that music video he directed - it's mainly close-ups of him with the lyrics annoyingly fading over him. I love the Hulud, but that's why this new guy (I won't ever call him by his name) needs to leave the collective. NOW. ps: Redoing an amazing song like "Set Your Body Ablaze" with the new singer was terrible. It just makes the fans miss Geert.

Formed: Pompano Beach, FL

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

A positively themed metalcore band with some straight-edge leanings, Shai Hulud have maintained a strong name identity since their original formation in the mid-'90s, so despite lineup and label changes, they've created a coherent, labyrinthine history. Shai Hulud formed in Pompano Beach, Florida, taking their name from the giant desert worms central to Frank Herbert's Dune mythology. The original lineup consisted of guitarists Matt Fox and Oliver Chapoy, bassist Dave Silber, and drummer Steve...
