iTunes Review

On his debut album, Jon Pardi celebrates hard times and good times alike with an upbeat attitude that can’t help but induce a smile. Write You a Song is rooted in the Northern California–born singer/songwriter’s love for honky tonk-style country while avoiding the morose balladry associated with the genre. Pardi and coproducer Bart Butler brighten things up with crunchy rock guitars and slamming drum work, seasoned with enough fiddle and pedal steel to keep the feel down-home. Pardi’s vocal style is exuberant, even brash, which fits his big-hearted and slightly reckless persona. Tracks like the touring musician’s lament “Missin’ You Crazy” (the singer’s first Top 30 single) and the starry-eyed “Chasin’ Them Better Days” have the authentic ring of experience. Whether he’s making a play for new romance (the title tune), confessing his fumbled love life (“Empty Beer Cans”), or drunk-calling his ex (“When I’ve Been Drinkin’”), Pardi balances his wild edge with a natural Guy Next Door charm. “Trash a Hotel Room” adds a dash of bad-boy craziness just when it’s needed.

This guy is going to be a star...

Saw Jon Pardi live at the House of Blues in Boston last week…along with Leah Turner and Cole Swindell. Jon was definitely the best…he was amazing to watch perform. And his band played LOUD :) He even did some moonwalking while his band played a little Michael Jackson interlude, haha. Great performer!

I will definitely be buying this album on day 1.

Ive already listen to both of his songs that are available and I love them, I cannot wait till the album comes out. This is what country is about (real country) not the pop country today. Jon Pardi is bringing country back.

I wanna know why?

Jon Pardi has a bright future ahead of him. Why aren't there more new country artists like this?! Honestly his sound is incredible!!!

Country singer and songwriter Jon Pardi, born May 20, 1985 and raised in Dixon, California, discovered his love of country music early, thanks in no small part to his grandmother's country karaoke machine. Falling under the spell of traditional country artists like George Jones and George Strait, and with a special affinity for Hank Williams, Jr., Pardi was playing guitar as a child, and was only seven years old when he belted out "Friends in Low Places" at his father's 30th birthday party at a local...
