Album Review

Hits 1985-1995: Best of the Best Gold is essentially a watered-down version of 2006's two-disc Essential Michael Bolton collection: the first 13 cuts are the exact same, while the remaining four are culled from that retrospective's second disc. All of the big hits are here ("When a Man Loves a Woman," "Soul Provider," "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You," and "How Can We Be Lovers," making it a better deal for fans just looking to skim the salt from the tide pool, but listeners with an unhealthier appetite for Bolton would be better off with the two-disc package.

Is that your real name?

I celebrate his entire catalog. For me, it doesn't get any better than when he sings When A Man Loves a Woman

OK, let's grow up and get past Office Space!!!

This album is great. The vocals that Michael Bolton has are far above everyone else's. This is a CD that you can put on during a long ride and just enjoy every song. There aren't too many CD's that an individual can put in and enjoy the whole CD (This is one of them). People shouldn't leave comments if there just going to down the man because he sings love music. He's laughing all the way to the bank. The people that are leaving bad comments are probably lonely losers who aren't with anybody.

The Love Songs of Our Life

I'll be honest with you, I love his music, I do, I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".

Singer/songwriter Michael Bolton had an extensive (though not very successful) career under his real name, Michael Bolotin, before emerging in the mid-'80s as a major soft rock balladeer. He first turned up on RCA Records in the mid-'70s, singing cover tunes and his own blue-eyed soul songs in a gruff, Joe Cocker-like voice. Neither record buyers nor critics were much interested by the result. He then became the lead singer of Blackjack, a heavy metal band that made two albums for Polydor before...
