A timeless classic...

Fighting Gravity is incredible live. They always put on a show that leaves everyone breathless. They sellout clubs / bars / etc. across the east coast and have been doing so for longer then I can remember. This is the first big album, and has since been followed by several other greats albums. Get this album and go see these guys.

1 cup ska, 1 cup reggae, and a twist of rock ...

Rolling Stone, Spin, and Billboard magazines have all acclaimed the style of Fighting Gravity over the past decade. Quotes include "songs are infectious and upbeat", "Seriously fun music from seriously fun musicians", and "It's payoff time for this Virginia-bred band". For once, I agree with the critics. Alas, like a lot of the great talant in the music world, they need that big break from some teeny-bopper show like "Dawson's Creek" to get them in the light of the masses. In the meantime, the fans who have been following them for years for the electric atmosphere they generate in small venues up and down the east coast will go on. Part of me is selfish to keep it that way so I can enjoy the personal experience of their music. But, they deserve the big break, with their captivating blend of ska, reggae, rock and world beats that could easily define the roots of a new genre. Some of the best they have to offer isn't even in iTunes. Check out their homepage for the full selection, including live sets. And for the best experience, make the trip to see them live. You will not regret it!
