22 Songs, 1 Hour 17 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Songs like “Receipt” and “Hustler Musik” embrace the moans and sweet strings of classic Seventies R&B, while the sublime “Shooter,” which unfolds in layers and hushed climaxes, bears little resemblance to typical rap song structure. As Wayne explains, “Then they ask who when where how / And my reply was simply POW!” Tha Carter II was the beginning of a whole new chapter for this New Orleans youngster.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

JAW-DROPPING!!!!

This album will soon be recognized as one of the most influential southern rap albums of the last decade. Lil' Wayne has done the impossible, and topped his masterpiece, The Carter. I thought the loss of Manny Fresh would greatly hurt the quality of this album, I STAND CORRECTED. The production is extraordinary, overall blockbuster! I highly recommend it.

Tha Dude Gargles Gumbo, Spits Jambalaya...

I dunno how the public gonna take this one, but to me its fire the whole way through. I love my man's flow, I don't care if he got it from Jay or what. He gets on more different styles of beats on this album, and he shows he can spit any way. Best tracks: Tha Mobb, The Interludes (Fly In, Carter II, Fly Out), Mo Fire, Best Rapper Alive, Hustler Musik, Receipt, Feel Me. His verses are off the top of his head a lot of times, or at least done in one take. Lil' Wayne is sick. Don't sleep on him. If you are doubtin', cop the SQAD mixtapes, and the Young Money Mixtape.
