Album Review

This is a fine guitar album featuring Henderson and Gerald Anderson along with local Virginia musicians. The guitar work is clean and clear, backed by fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and bass at times. A must for you acoustic-guitar fans.

Many of us only dream of playing guitar like this. This is a great album for any acoustic guitar enthusiast from a man who not only plays but personally handcrafts some of the finest guitars ever built. I had never heard of him until a friend gave me the book, "Clapton's Guitar" by Allen St. John, about Wayne Henderson building the perfect instrument. Here is a true American legend and more people should know about him. His intricate finger work will leave you breathless and wanting more. I love this album!

Wayne Henderson visited our high school, performed, and gave a presentation on his hand-made guitars. That goes to show how nice this extremely talented bluegrass player is. An adorable man, his guitars are top notch and have a limitless wait-list. If you haven't given him a listen, make sure you do!!

When I was 10 I played "Victory Rag" at one of my recitals; big hit. I couldn't help but crack when found it on iTunes. Least to say, Wayne Henderson performed it a helluva lot better than my recording.

By the time they moved to Los Angeles and started recording in 1961, they were known as the Jazz Crusaders. After many records for Pacific Jazz, the group in 1971 changed its name to...
