Not afraid to tell it like it is....

The thing that always amazes me about Derek Webb's music is how he isn't afraid to speak truth. When listening to the words of his songs one can not help but reflect on the condition of their own heart. This album addresses some serious issues in our society straight forward, something we don't see much of at all in this country. The sound is a little different (but still great) - but the content is what is important and it's right on. Issues such as legalism, loving your neighbor, and allegiance to Christ are all addressed on this album. I applaude you Derek and others like you for standing for the truth in times like now when things are so pluralistic.

Listen to, and hear, Derek Webb

This is the kind of album that grows on you. After listening once, I would have agreed with Tony's "zzzz" comment. Soon you will find the great songs in "My Enemies", "A King/Kingdom", and the sarcastic "A New Law". Great message Derek. A great reminder of what Jesus' teachings mean today.

Can't go wrong with this!

Derek Webb is an artist who does his art well, and his words question and challenge and wrestle with things that I wish the whole world would talk about together. The message he has is one that makes you want to chase after what he is running after, too. He is perhaps my favorite artist of all time, and he sounds amazing live even when it's just him and a guitar...
