More excellence from Gazpacho

I came across Gazpacho about a year ago on Apple Radio. I created a station from either Pineapple Thief or Marillion, can't remember which, and very little was standing out until a song from Gazpacho's Night came on. My ears perked up and I was asking, "What is this?" It was just so different from ANYTHING else I was hearing, either on satellite radio, regular radio, or even in the catalog of progressive rock that I loved so much. Within a month I went from "Who are these guys" to "This is my favorite band."

The brilliant musicianship, the writing, the vocals, the layer-upon-layer of notes and creativity are incredible. With bands like this you wish they could achieve the commercial success that they so obviously deserve, but maybe it is better for us and them that they are what they are: true to themselves, genuine artists making musical masterpieces the way that they want to and bringing that beauty into the world. I just wish more people could find it and enjoy it the way that I and my family have.

Molok is a great piece, a worthy addition to an already impressive catalog from Gazpacho. It is a complex piece, and the advice of guitarist Jon-Arne Vilbo to give it a few listens to allow it to open up was spot on. After two or three times through it really blossoms. Park Bench, The Master's Voice and Know Your Time go beyond my ears and strike deep inside, making me think as well as feel. I find myself going back to these songs again and again. Contrast this with the vapid, empty landscape that is the average hour of music on Sirius' Alt-Nation, and watch the continuing decline of quality and content in "Popular" music. We are indeed blessed to have the talent of bands like Gazpacho to off-set that.

It's hard for me to say which Gazpacho album is my favorite. I probably listen to Misa Atropos more than any other just to wind down after a long day. But the heavier concepts of Demon, Molok and Tick Tock are albums that I like to experience in total and offer their own, different rewards.

I remain in awe iof the talent of everyone in this band. Every piece of the puzzle fits together comfortably. Experience Molok for yourself. It's another great gift from this collection of brilliant musicians.

Great Vibe

I’m very impressed with this album. It took a few listens to warm up to it. While I am still not yet a big fan of the first three tracks, I’m really enjoying the rest of the album. There are a lot of unique and interesting parts to be found here. I found their last album, Demon, to be a bit too jarring for my taste. But this is a smooth album with some dark touches here and there and a very cool sound. I look forward to enjoying it many more times. (The track Alarm is my current favorite on this album.)

A method for your ear !!!

An outstanding album as always from one of the greatest music bands ever. Simply can't believe in this period of time I'm listening to this kind of music which I think is coming from another world. I'm so proud that I'm living with Gazpacho in same era.
