About Beatie Wolfe

Known for using progressive concepts to market her music, British singer/songwriter Beatie Wolfe made a splash in 2010 when she delivered her first EP, Burst, as a mobile app. Likewise, her acclaimed 2013 debut album, 8ight, was launched as an interactive 3-D app for a Palm Top Theater device or the iPhone's visualization technology. Wolfe's fervent embrace of forward-thinking technology is somewhat at odds with her organic folk-rock music, which pulls from the brooding poeticism of Leonard Cohen and occasionally veers into Americana territory. Boldly utilizing a wide spectrum of media, she also had an accompanying lyric book called Words of 8ight printed by London's famed antiquarian bookseller Maggs Bros Ltd. In 2015, she released the charity single "Kids Wish for the World" to benefit the NSPCC's ChildLine and War Child organizations. Released in late 2015, Wolfe's second album, Montagu Square, was released across multiple digital platforms and physically as a deck of NFC (Near Field Communication) cards as well as a multimedia jacket tailored by famed British rock tailor Mr. Fish. The album was conceived and recorded at Montagu Square in Marleybone, a historic location that was the former home of both Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix, among other rock notables. ~ Timothy Monger
