iTunes Review

With sneering attitude and buzzsaw guitars, Hanni El Khatib goes all out with Moonlight. The musician's third album is a powder keg of wild-eyed rock with a sinister ‘70s edge. Khatib channels the raw energy of Iggy Pop, Black Sabbath, and Jon Spencer into a blast of tightly constructed, hook-driven rock songs. “Melt Me” is Moonlight’s undeniable come-on, pairing the singer’s repeated plea to “come over and melt me” with a sinister twist of lead guitar. “Chasin’” is a Black Keys–style soul jam, while raunchy guitar riffs hold together other highlights like “Servant,” “The Teeth," and “All Black.”

In Love

I love the song moonlight sm💞

Miserable to listen to

I listened to all the songs. They each and all could be used as torture devices when the United States is interrogating terrorists. The sound alone of this music gives me a gag reflex, and I feel as though I should bash my speakers or my ears. Whichever one ends this agonizing abomination improperly labeled rock music quickest.

Great New Album

Go see Hanni live, whenever and where ever possible. Three great albums, each with a different flavor from the last.

Put it in your ears, and let your brain feast upon it.
