Masterpiece on Loneliness

If you like the Wavves/Best Coast bright and lazy sound then Fazerdaze is amazing, but Amelia (yeah, this is all actually just 1 girl who wrote and performed everything by herself) surpasses their simplicity with Morningside. All of the songs have something to do with being alone and trying to break out of that shell or dealing with the hardships that go along with everyday human interactions from the point of view of someone not comfortable with these interactions. It's full of self doubt, uncertainty, shame, and fear but the bright music hints that beyond these negative thoughts everything is actually just fine or at least she wants everything to come off that way. This is an album that obviously was thought about non-stop in a way only someone with actual isolation issues could do. The ordering of the songs is perfect and the lyrics and vocal distortion get more and more erratic as the album progresses but it never calls attention to itself. It's lyrics are genuine and reflect actual experience and the complete control Fazerdaze had as she did this by herself gives it even more legitimacy. Come for the soothing tones, stay for the most accurate depiction of loneliness I have every heard. Best album I've heard in years.

Standout songs: (all of them but I'll list the best) Bedroom Talks, Jennifer, Lucky Girl, Little Uneasy, and Last to Sleep

Extremely dreamy and nostalgic, I love this piece of art.
