Album Review

Arriving about a month before Hilary Duff turned 18 and presumably right around the time her record contract was coming to an end, 2005's Most Wanted is a tossed-off hodgepodge of seven previously released songs (including the hits "So Yesterday" and "Fly"), three new remixes (including one of the hit "Come Clean"), and three new songs. Nothing screams contractual obligation quite like this kind of grab bag, and hardcore fans will be hard-pressed for a reason to add this to their collection, since they not only have nearly everything here, the new songs — the single "Wake Up," which sounds like a sweet-natured, slightly listless spin on Gwen Stefani's "Cool"; the persistent electro-pulse of "Beat of My Heart"; the lightweight Ashlee Simpson-styled rocker "Break My Heart" — sound a bit like leftovers. While this isn't a terrible album by any means, it's not particularly a good one, since Duff's two pop albums have distinctive personalities that don't necessarily mesh together (2003's Metamorphosis is unabashed teen pop, 2004's Hilary Duff is a post-Ashlee/Avril rock makeover), and are both more fun than this. If all you're looking for is the two hits on one disc (and you don't really mind that one is remixed, not in the version that you heard on the radio), Most Wanted suits the bill.

Why Do People Not Like Her?

I don't understand why people don't like Hilary Duff. It is one thing to dislike hermusic, but her as a person...that's just wrong. You don't really know her people, you just don't. I especially like the Wake Up song. It is catchy and fun. Remember: You don't know her. Who know, she could be so nice, she could even become your BEST FRIEND if you met really don't know, do you. Stop judging people!

sorry kids...

i strongly dislike hilary duff and i respect that some people like her, but i really think that hilary only appeals to 10-yr-olds with pink eyeshadow and nail polish. while ruining Good Charlotte and trying to be punk in her new song Wake Up, she manages to make her songs all about herself, and the lyrics dont make sense with each other. (Im shedding, shedding all the color/trying to find a pigment of truth beneath my skin) fyi pigment and color mean the same thing. so yeah pretty much. dont attack me with mean comments, cause i respect you guys...

I'm trilled

Even though there are only 3 new songs on this edition of Most Wanted, it's still a best buy. Don't let her blonde hair fools you, Hilary Duff works really hard in the music industry. I even bought 3 copies of her Most Wanted album.

Hilary Duff first made a name for herself on the enormously successful Disney Channel/ABC Kids show Lizzie McGuire, which she parlayed into dual careers as a pop singer and film actress. Like most overnight successes, however, she paid her dues for several years before her big break. Appearances in the 1997 western True Women, 1998's Casper (as the Friendly Ghost's human friend Wendy), and 1999's The Soul Collector paved the way for her best-known role. Lizzie McGuire, which chronicled the ups and...
