Moulin Rouge (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture)

Moulin Rouge reinvented the movie musical as we know it, turning dusty old show tunes and bygone hits into hip new songs. David Bowie kisses new life into Eden Ahbez's 1947 hit, "Nature Boy," and hearing Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink and Lil' Kim redo Patti LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade" is just as epic a listening experience as their celluloid performance is visually.
good songs but why the heck are they all album only?? i love the version of lady marmalade and when i looked for it anywhere else i couldn't buy the one that christina aguilera, pink, mya, and lil kim do and that one's the best!
ANNOYED and FRUSTRATED
All I want is to buy Lady Marmalade! Its such an awesome song. Why won't you let us?!?! There are so many people throughout these reviews that state the same exact thing. Give us a break already. Apparently you could purchase the single in the past. I even tried some of itunes competitors and its the same there too. What's the deal?
This is a great CD and does a commendable job in representing the movie. It does lack wonderful songs such as "Spectacular Spectacular" and "Like A Virgin" as the other reviewers noted. I love listening to the actors (and suprisingly singers as well), who deliver the songs beautifully. In my skills of deduction (and luck), I have found a CD that DOES include those 'lost' songs. If you are lucky as I was, search for it at any music store. iTunes doesn't have it yet (to my knowledge), but it's called Moulin Rouge (Vol. 2). I suppose the fans, and eventually the producers, demanded what the first lacked. So when you get both, they are wonderful to listen to in tandem. Even without the 'lost CD,' this one is great to have in any musical lover's collection.
