iTunes Review

Before Alabama came along, country was all about solo artists. Albums like this proved how fresh and exciting a self-contained country band could sound. And with crossover pop hits as undeniably catchy as the LP’s title track, it was like country finally had its own Beatles. It didn’t hurt that Alabama were so versatile—they could rip out a rugged, country-rocking cover of Creedence’s swampy “Green River” one moment and deliver a thoughtful social statement like “Changes Comin’ On” the next—without breaking a sweat.

One of the best bands period end of discussion

My mom and dad raised me on old time records and this happened to be the one I liked the most out of their 33's.I enjoyed every track from start to finish.Alabama should have never retired because their legacy will last forever. They are just that good of a band.If you want one of the best 80's albums then you should go ahead and purchase this $5.99 unless you are broke then maybe you should wait till you get some cash on your debit card then buy it.You will be glad that you did.Trust me I am 24 and I have been listening to them my whole entire life and I even went to their concert when Kenny Chesney was touring with them and then he was just trying to get his foot in the music industry. He even thanked them at the CMA's.Enjoy.

Before Alabama, bands were usually relegated to a supporting role in country music. Alabama was the group that made country bands popular again. Emerging in the late '70s, the band had roots in both country and rock; in fact, many of Alabama's musical concepts, particularly the idea of a performing band, owed...
