Great music!!

Great to hear howlin wolf a definite must buy. All the songs are great some of my favorites are 'spoonful' and 'Ooh Baby' to name a few. I'm surprised 'Poor boy' isn't in the list though that's another great song.

Comprehensive to a fault (sort of)

How you will react to this album will depend on how central the blues are to your love of music. Seventy five tracks make up a large collection that I find impractical to listen to at one sitting. Also the blues are not as critical to my taste as it is for some others, though that voice is wonderful. For me almost half the tracks are must haves, with an intensity of feeling and drive that consistently touch me like few other singers, about a quarter are nice to have, and the rest (mostly from his early years while he is perfecting his style) are mostly of historical interest to me, and historical interest is not that critical to me.

Simply Awesome!

Howlin's the definitive blues man. Hearing this man's music speaks to my soul and the soul of anyone who hears it. There's just no comparing anyone to The Wolf! Now all they need to do is get his live performances up and my bank account will never be the same :)

Six foot three and close to 300 pounds in his salad days, the Wolf was the primal force of the music spun out to its ultimate conclusion. A Robert Johnson may have possessed more lyrical insight, a Muddy Waters more dignity, and a B.B. King certainly more technical expertise, but no one could match him for the singular ability to rock the house down to the foundation while simultaneously scaring its patrons out...
