iTunes Editors’ Notes

Here is the most comprehensive collection of Simon & Garfunkel’s recorded output in remastered sound. It contains all five of their studio albums—Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., Sounds of Silence, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, Bookends, and Bridge over Troubled Water—plus demos, outtakes, and a b-side previously only available on the Old Friends collection. Deluxe versions of their albums that include bonus materials go in and out of print, making this the best one-stop purchase. Only the duo’s live performances and their 1975 reunion track “My Little Town” remain outside the scope of this excellent collection.

Customer Reviews

C'mon Sony, Get a clue

The music here gets 5 stars hands down. It's Sony's ever-disgusting attitude toward its artists as money-generating cattle that earns such poor marks. S&G are not alone in the history of poor treatment by this particular music machine. But I digress, S&G created and performed some of the 60's finest, well-written songs. Though not every track is as memorable as classics like The Sound of Silence or Bridge Over Troubled Water, they are all worthy of continued listens. Unfortunately, Sony's sheer greed in forcing buyers to purchase this one track at time, instead of offering a great package price, probably means that a lot of underappreciated, underrated songs will never be heard by a new generation of music fans. Follow-Up: Nice to see someone paying attention and adding a Buy Album option. Thank you!

Excellent

This box set has all of their original studio albums, and for the price being asked, about five or six dollars less than buying each album individually. This compilation is the smarter choice.

When it was released as "Collected Works". There are several bonus songs and alternate versions, so this is a great addition to any library of 1960's Folk-Rock music.

The most successful folk-rock duo of the 1960s, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel crafted a series of memorable hit albums and singles featuring their choirboy harmonies, ringing acoustic and electric guitars, and Simon's acute, finely wrought songwriting. The pair always inhabited the more polished end of the folk-rock spectrum and was sometimes criticized for a certain collegiate sterility. Many also feel that Simon, as both a singer and songwriter, didn't truly blossom until he began his own hugely...
