Mundo Loco (Crazy World) became one of the most interesting records produced by a Cuban artist in the year 2000. David Alvarez teamed up with a group of young musicians called Juego de Manos to deliver 11 songs melded with different Afro-Caribbean rhythms in a peculiar way. From the son-inflected "Tambor" to the salsa-stylized "La Ciudad de los Pregones," Mundo Loco brings funny and nostalgic stories based on his personal thoughts about love and life, mainly inspired by common people from the Cuban streets. "Cantando una Pena" and "Habanera Sola" are among the most captivating songs on this album.
