iTunes Review

Steven Tyler’s two seasons as an American Idol judge doubled as an extended pop immersion program. The reenergized Tyler and Aerosmith unleash Music from Another Dimension!, the Boston bad boys’ first album of original songs in 11 years. The band balances the radio-friendly balladry they've perfected (“What Could Have Been Love”) with the nasty, slashing blues rock they pioneered (“Legendary Child,” “Beautiful,” and “Oh Yeah”)—a sound and style echoed by more than a few indie antiheroes.

Modern with a Flare from the Past

unlike the albums leading up to this one, i think that MFAD has flares from different portions of Aerosmith's career. It isn't just a pure rock, pop, blues, or ballads compilation, its a mixture of all, and it's put together in a way where it can be enjoyed by old and new Aerosmith fans alike. Of course Steven's voice has turned into a more raspy gritty sound as his age is catching up to him, but his vocals are still phenomenal. Guitar work by Brad and Joe was also superb. Is this one of their best works? Personally, i don't think it has anything on Rocks, Get a Grip, Toys In the Attic, or Draw the Line. Although i did enjoy hearing the return of this legendary band after their near decade absense from the studio. If you have enjoyed listening to Aerosmith's previous records, give this one a shot. Some songs will grow on you the more that you listen to them as they did for me. Overall, not half bad. Welcome back to the music world aerosmith! ^^A^^

Aerosmith, I

I've been a fan of Aerosmith since the day in 1993 when I first saw the Cryin' video on MTV, I was 9 years old. I have listened to every album they released since and own all their albums prior to that. I just have to say that I have been waiting for a long time for new Aerosmith music, 11 years to be exact and Music From Another Dimension doesn't disappoint. Every song is different and great in its own way. I want to thank you guys for continuing to make legitimate music that people can listen to for decades to come. Aerosmith fan for life.

Average at best

Aerosmith were one of the most popular hard rock bands of the '70s, setting the style and sound of hard rock and heavy metal for the next two decades with their raunchy, bluesy swagger. The Boston-based quintet found the middle ground between the menace of the Rolling Stones and the campy, sleazy flamboyance of the New York Dolls, developing a lean, dirty riff-oriented boogie that was loose and swinging and as hard as a diamond. In the meantime, they developed a prototype for power ballads with...
