Customer Reviews

More Please

We need more contemporary music written with the depth of the psalms and the rich heritage of historic Christian hymnody. Thankful for this collection of songs that express the full range of human experience and devotion.

Thank you!!

Whether in prose or music, Greg Wilbur has a knack for getting to the point without cheating the participants. This collection respects the text of the Psalms, communicates clearly in today's culture and points us toward transcendent truth. In a time when much music in the church is unecessarily repetitive and/or vapid, both lyrically and musically, this is a welcome addition to our corporate life. Highly recommended!!!

Southern, Celtic, Folk, Hymnody

My Cry Ascends defies the categories of "traditional" or "contemporary" music. Greg Wilbur instead seems to be following a more transcendent, timeless standard--not of what is popular or temporarily fashionable, but rather what actually is good music. These Psalms and hymns are lyrically rich with music that matches.
