EDITORS’ NOTES

Following the ecstatic response to their early EPs, Wolf Alice unveil a debut full-length that bristles with '90s alt-rock fury, disarming pop melodies, and experimental textures. My Love Is Cool includes those EPs’ strongest moments (the sugary squall of “Fluffy” and the glimmering crescendos of “Bros”) and expands on their promise. While talented frontwoman Ellie Rowsell coos and belts on the towering lullaby “Your Loves Whore,” she adds ferocious vocal layering throughout the shoegazing screech of “Lisbon.”

Looks like a nice mix of old and new songs. Giant Peach is great song start to finish. Good refreshing sound and a little throw back to early 90's sound.

Great music from a excellent band!

Love, Love, LOVE this band. I've been waiting a loooong time for a band like this to come along. The song writing, and instrumentation are thoughtful & well performed. If you love alt rock, buy this & buy it now…you won't be disappointed

Wolf Alice will explode in 2015

Wolf Alice has been honing their sound over the last couple years playing live gigs in Europe and the U.S. Their sound is hybrid alt-rock, folk and punk with amazing melodies and hooks that you won't be able to get out of your head. Front woman Ellie is a skilled musician with vocals that work so well combined with band mates Theo, Joff and Joel's superb musical mastery. Having seen them live both in L.A. and Austin I can say they put on a great show and you can tell this a band that has paid their dues practicing to play so tight. To say this band knows what they're doing is putting it mildly. I highly recommend checking out all their EP's as they've put out some great songs some of which make the debut album. I can't wait to see Wolf Alice break out big time in 2015!

About Wolf Alice

An evocative North London alt-rock outfit led by vocalist Ellie Rowsell, Wolf Alice deftly mixes folk, grunge, and electronic elements with vintage '90s indie rock. Formed in 2010 by Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, the duo issued an eponymous EP independently before expanding into a four-piece in 2012 with the addition of drummer Joel Amey and bassist Theo Ellis. The newly minted quartet released a flurry of singles before putting out a proper debut EP, Blush, in 2013. The EP garnered positive reviews, with some critics comparing the group to Elastica, Garbage, the Duke Spirit, and the Pixies. The band's sophomore EP, Creature Songs, followed in 2014.

A pair of singles, "Giant Peach" and "Bros," arrived before the Mercury Prize-nominated full-length My Love Is Cool in June 2015. The album also earned Brit, Grammy, and Ivor Novello award nominations. Along with touring, Wolf Alice contributed the song "Ghoster" to the Ghostbusters soundtrack in 2016 and began work on their second album. Written in London and recorded in Los Angeles with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, 2017's Visions of a Life featured the singles "Yuk Foo" and "Don't Delete the Kisses," and spanned the band's many sounds. ~ James Christopher Monger
