iTunes Review

This debut full-length from Seattle’s Macklemore & Ryan Lewis catapulted the duo to international stardom and helped them earn several GRAMMY®s, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album. From the jump (“Ten Thousand Hours”), the quick-witted Macklemore tips his cap to Malcolm Gladwell as he professes his love of art and paints a picture of his musical journey. Macklemore proceeds to flex lyrical skills (“Can’t Hold Us"), flaunt a passion for budget fashion on the GRAMMY®-winning smash “Thrift Shop,” reveal uncompromised goals (“Make the Money,” “Jimmy Iovine"), and intelligently deliver endearing stories that further distinguish Macklemore & Ryan Lewis from the rap pack (“Same Love,“ ”Wing$”).

Customer Reviews

As simple and just as complex as equal rights

Same love takes the cake. The same one that got left out in the rain so many years ago. Lyrics that are "straight" to the point and beautiful. High recommend. Keep your flow, macklemore.

Art

This is more than music. The album is like a film. It's an emotional roller coaster.. It takes you through all different moods, makes you want to party with Thrift Shop, before it makes you want to cry with Starting Over. It's funny. It's beautiful from the amazing hooks to the verses to the features to the production. This album has taken hip hop to another realm, its unlike anything I've ever heard, and just for that in itself The Heist is beautiful

Loved it

Really good album!1
