A Slow Grower

One of only six studio disks from Marti Jones - and it ranks up there as one of the best ones though it might take a little while to grow on you. A pristine voice, an eclectic song selection and excellent production. Stand-out tracks are "Liveboat", "Slave", "So Lonesome..." and "Always" - but there really isn't a bad song on the disk. She is not well enough known and she should be, as Marti is more talented than most singers out there.

My Tidy Dolly Dream

Agree with the first reviewer. Know her husband Don, a frequent visitor to Charleston WV's music scene & Mountain Stage -- but had only heard about his wife. Really glad I finally heard Marti's music & wish they had some of her older stuff on iTunes.

Pop singer Marti Jones first emerged as the frontwoman of the group Color Me Gone before issuing her solo debut Unsophisticated Time -- produced by future husband Don Dixon -- in 1985.
