Another Avantasia masterpiece!

When I heard Tobias Sammet was putting together a sixth Avantasia album, I went nuts. I've been in love with this project since The Scarecrow in 2008, and I consider them to be one of my favorite bands along with Dio, Elvenking, Judas Priest, Symphony X, and Boston. As with each Avantasia album, there's a slew of musical talent to enjoy here, especially in the vocals: in addition to Sammet, Michael Kiske and Bob Catley return from previous albums and Joe Lynn Turner, Ronnie Atkins, Bill Byford, and Eric Martin are all lending their voices as well. And, like each of the previous albums, all of the tracks stand out, especially the longer ones. With the metal operas, Sammet took basically the same sound he had with Edguy and made it more epic with orchestral sounds and an army of vocalists. In the Scarecrow trilogy, Avantasia really came into its own with more layers and more delicate songwriting, and Sammet really experimented with gorgeous and haunting melodies. Here, much of the Scarecrow sound returns, but the writing is more complex on every level, which really demonstrates his maturity as a song writer. There are plenty of great singles, like "Spectres" and "Sleepwalking", but if you really appreciate good music like I do, you'd buy the whole album

Truly Great

Another work of Art from Tobias. I look forward to Avantasia the last few Edguy CD's have seemed flat to me, but Tobias's Avantasia work has been superb. This Cd is no different, excellent in every way. I just wish Jorn was on this one, as the rest.

fantastic!

a beautiful addition to avantasia's already incredible albums! tobias man keep making new albums for avantasia and of course edguy! rock on!
