Customer Reviews

Solander is an older group (2005 if i remember right) but there new cd is absolutely great. The way they craft their strong melodies surrounding substantial lyrics is not only refreshing, its new and exciting to hear something original by a strong collaboration of people. Great work, highly recommended if you're into this type of music.

Swedish gold!

To give the cover art a good look is to get a good feel of this album; it darkly atmospheric but all the while being pierced through with bright light. Listening to "Since We Are Pigeons" feels like walking around in the middle of the night in a snow covered village in Fredrik Karlsson's (the entirety of Solander) native Sweeden. It's exciting, unpredictable, incredibly lonely, and mysterious. The album employs strong, hummable melodies and sprightly drumming, sometimes with accompanying strings, and always with thoughtful lyrics. It is indie-rock at it's finest. At first listen, "Since We Are Pigeons" sounds like something familiar; something you just can't put your finger on. But each song's own distinct sound and mood is what differentiates it from everything else. A great album, easy on the ears, and something that sticks with you long after you're done listening.
