EDITORS’ NOTES

Getting in touch with his folkier side has paid off for Chris Cornell on Higher Truth—a showcase of the Soundgarden frontman's peerless voice set against a mostly acoustic backdrop. He’s pensive and tender over Nick Drake-style guitars on “Through the Window,” and digs in deep with his impassioned howl on gentle rocker “Worried Moon.” But for a real taste of Cornell’s versatility as a songwriter, check out the tuneful melodies he strings together on the beautiful title track and the album’s centerpiece, “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart."

Apple-Please Stop this madness

How can an album be rated 5 stars (or 1,2,3, or 4)off of one song. Yes, this is a good song but I wish Apple wouldn't allow ppl to rate a song before an album is released. Anyone looking for advice once the album debuts will be mislead. Drives me insane!!!

Incredible

Chris Cornell was an amazing artist. I've had this album since it came out but seeing as this incredible man passed on today (May 18, 2017) I found it necessary to share that this album was truly wonderful and feels like coming home to a wonderful family after a long day at work. My go to album to listen to relax and remember the good times.

Listened to Entire Album; Wonderful!!

I had a good feeling this would be solid when I read it would be stripped down. Cornell is genius on the acoustic, specifically with his innovative chord progressions and this album carries that elegant weirdness we all love so much about "Euphoria Morning". EM is still better, but this album is truly a joy to listen to. Possibly the album of the year for me.
