Editors’ Notes

It's not exactly Michael Jordan mentoring Lebron James, but it's in the neighborhood: one of hip-hop's hottest young MCs, 18-year-old Bishop Nehru, collaborating with 43-year-old legend MF Doom. On NehruvianDOOM, the latter drops a few verses, including his blueprint for rap success on "Great Things," but he stays mainly behind the boards—hence the familiar mix of muddy boom-bap beats, chopped-up movie dialogue, and various cartoony flourishes. Nehru's endlessly unspooling flow is full of internal rhymes and canny wordplay that would make his mentor proud. Short and sweet, this snapshot of a rising star doubles as the first Doom-produced album since 2003's Take Me to Your Leader.

Looking Forward

Really looking forward to this album. It's annoying it keeps getting pushed back...

Bishop Nehru + MF DOOM = SILKY SMOOTH TUNES

This collaborative album is already proving to be one of the most anticipated albums of the summer. Following the YouTube release of Darkness (HBU) and the preorder release of OM, this piece is already making waves in underground hiphop circles.

Pretty Excited For This One

Although, Bishop is very lucky to be working with MF DOOM, I am eager to hear what this record as a whole has to offer. I am really hoping DOOM gets a verse or two in every song (obviously not the singles), and if he doesn't then I will buy this album regardless just because DOOM is a great producer and a master at his craft. With MF DOOM as Bishop's mentor we can only except him to get better, I mean, right?
