Editors’ Notes

Blake Shelton channels country legends like George Jones and Randy Travis. Some of the best songs on Shelton's eighth album are the ballads, such as "Lonely Tonight" and the standout "I Need My Girl." But there are plenty of strong-booze-and-tough-women rollers here, notably the driving title track, as well as "Gonna," and "Good Country Song," which lives up to its title.

Customer Reviews

Surprised by the negative reviews until I investigated further and discovered that those reviewers were hard core fans of other artists. Shame that some folks feel the need to tear down one artist to try to build up another. Too bad that they do not trust their fave’s work to stand for itself.

Better than the norm

If u think about this song rationally on the "country" national stage here's what u get. It's's blake Shelton...its a million times more country than 90% of the crap that everyone's recording now. So dog it if u want, but if u hear it on the radio enjoy it, because chances are the next song on the dial will be a cookie cutter about dirt roads, trucks, beer, girls, and making her fall in love. Face it, country music is catering to the college age and below crowd and that's it. Because 65 year old people that listen to real country aren't exactly downloading songs on there flip phones. Wheels are round and they always come around. Some suit wearing label exec will soon have an epiphany and realize he's spent 20 years chasing dollars instead of reputations. Just remember when u hear 5 songs in a row that are all about the same things it's not a coincidence, it's labels competing, and trying to follow a curve that they think exists, something like the bell bottom jeans. I was there, I recorded, I sang, and it's all bull. Pass me the base and bronzer

Fixin' to get my second album! ❤️

... I had no idea who this Blake fella was til I bought the single "Sure be cool if you did" ... Then I bought the album; now I'm fixin' to buy another, and another, and another! 😊 #HookedOnThisGoodOleBoy
