It Grows On You

As It Is were a band that caught my eye when "Dial Tones" was released, but I never really got into them super big. Not until the new album Okay came out and I realized they were progressing more and more each album, so I went back and bought all their old stuff. This album is a perfeclt blend of pop-punk and emo, which is really just a step in the right direction from their previous EP. Vocally, Patty and Ben work well together with the dual vocals. People complain Patty sounds nasally, but I think his voice fits well. Musically, the band focus a tad more on the emo/mid-tempo side than the energetic side of pop-punk, but it fits them well. I do wish they had more harder/energetic songs on here though. Lyrically, this song is great. All about mental health, inner demons, anxiety, depression, love, etc. There is no filler here, but my favorite songs are: "Dial Tones", "Concrete", "Cheap Shots and Setbacks", "Can't Save Myself", and "Silence (Pretending's so Comfortable)". Buy this album and support these guys. Great stuff.

The perfect anytime jam

I saw this band live as an opener and instantly fell in love with them more than the headline band I went to see. Their music is easily jammed to and you could listen to them on repeat for days. EVERYONE NEEDS ALL THE SONGS FROM THIS BAND <3

About As It Is

As It Is are a pop-punk quintet based out of Brighton, England. Formed in 2012 by American-born frontman Patty Walters, they have a melodic, earnest, emo-inspired sound that recalls the early work of bands like Taking Back Sunday and the Starting Line. Along with singer/guitarist Benjamin Biss, guitarist Andy Westhead, bassist Alistair Testo, and drummer Patrick Foley, the band released four independent EPs beginning with 2012's Two Track and followed in 2013 by both electric and acoustic versions of the Blenheim Place EP. By the time of their 2014 release, This Mind of Mine, As It Is had built up a strong following in the U.K. and expanded their touring range into Europe as well. After signing with Fearless Records, they traveled to Florida to record their first full-length with producer James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Dashboard Confessional). Their debut LP, Never Happy, Ever After, was released in April 2015. Following a busy summer playing every date of the Warped Tour, As It Is headed back to the U.K. and spent much of 2016 recording their follow-up LP, Okay. The album was released in January 2017.
