12 Songs, 38 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Decades after its release, Never Mind the Bollocks remains one of the most thrilling punk albums of all time. Its layers of fiery guitars and pummeling drums beneath Johnny Rotten's sneering, staccato call to arms still sound fresh and vital. Bracing sermons on British youth's bleak future, like "God Save the Queen" and "Anarchy in the U.K.," felt genuinely shocking, even threatening, in 1977. The band's sly humor and love of their musical forebears are more obvious today, but these tracks rock just as hard as they ever did.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

THERE'S NO POINT IN ASKING YOU'LL GET NO REPLY

What happened? The Greatest Album Ever Made has gotten shoddy treatment. First, the album is not called "Nevermind the Bollocks," it's "Never Mind the Bollocks." This ain't Nirvana, iTunes. Second, the "Pretty Vacant" here is an OUTTAKE and not identified as such! Stick with the vinyl, if you can find it. iTunes -- you're pretty vacant. And you don't care.

NEVER MIND iTUNES

iTunes took the greatest rock album ever and screwed it up with a terrible muddy master and a horrible outtake of Pretty Vacant. They couldn't even spell it correctly. BUY THE CD, PEOPLE. THIS VERSION IS A SCREAMING, _______, BLOODY MESS. Disgraceful.
