Album Review

Gameface's indie rock style never before was captured as decidedly rocking as on Always On, as the band stripped away much of their punk exterior to offer ten solid tunes that continued to prove why they were such a cult favorite. Jeff Caudill's expertise remains the guiding force behind the band's achievements, as his honed vocals make even the simplistic lyrical content that much more powerful and true. Though Always On may have been overlooked by some as a rougher Matchbox Twenty when it was released, it is an excellent rock album that is not reliant on repetitive hooks to leave an impression on the listener. The album also allowed the band to acknowledge the ongoing rivalry between them and Texas Is the Reason, yet its main appeal comes in the form of ten easy-to-digest rock & roll tunes that embody the life that thrives in the underground scene. This may not be the best album Gameface ever released, but is a must for any longtime fan. ~ Jason D. Taylor, Rovi

The Joke Was On Me All Along

Here's another album that should have spawned several million selling pop-emo-punk singles, if anyone had actually paid attention. All those A & R guys who decide who becomes a millionaire rock star and who becomes a part time guitar player slash graphic designer missed out on these guys along with a handfull of their contemporaries, but more importantly, a generation of kids missed out on some life altering jams like "Laughable" - which is as good of a pop/punk/emo/whatever the hell you want to call it because it doesn't matter anyway song as you're ever going to hear. Thanks for the memories, Gameface. You changed at least one life.

One of the best emo/punk things you will ever hear

These guys are fantastic. I found out about them from this amazing xbox game Amped. Once I was about 16 i started to really dig the music from that game, and so i made it a mission of mine to grab all the songs from that game. Laughable instantly caught my attention along with Balance. Knowing i loved these songs, i decided to jsut buy the album figuring i would like at least a few of their other songs. I was so wrong. Every single song on this album is emo/punk perfection. I sit here when i should be finishing my physics writing this review while listening to this album for the hundredth time. Its good, and Balance is perhaps the single most chill song to play on guitar ever.
