Album Review

Priceless Jazz is a good midline sampler of highlights from Ahmad Jamal's recordings for MCA and GRP. Although this isn't a definitive collection, it offers representative material to make this a good introduction to these recordings for curious listeners on a budget.

Great piano trio!

I wish I had discovered Jamal earlier in my music listening life. Great piano trio music. Generally great relaxing "evening" music. I suspect if you like the music of Brubeck, you'll like Jamal. But then I'm partial to this era of jazz.

Give me back my favorite album!

In order to have the complete "Live at the Pershing" album one must buy everything but Poinciana individually for $0.99 and then buy this album for $8.99. Thats a rip off. "Live at the Pershing" is Ahmad Jamal's only album with true relevance and I cant even get the whole thing unless I buy this one too. I saw Ahmad in concert last year and he didn't play any thing from this compilation except Poinciana, but he did play everything off of "Live at the Pershing". He even played "But Not For Me" twice.
