Customer Reviews

catchy and seamless, easy and moving

All through the 70's I kept hearing about Karla Bonoff, and then forgetting her name, but knowing that I liked her, but not sure why cause hadn't heard her except for Ronstadt's covers of her work. I knew that she was an "industry artist", loved by artists in the know, though maybe not by the general public. I finally bought New World, quite a while ago in the early 90's. Loved this album always; so well put together, catchy, delightful and at times moving. But I still didn't have this work in perspective of any of her other work. I finally just listened to all the samples on iTunes from her first three albums and read the reviews. Her first album with just a listen to the samples is an instant hit for me. So I was hesitant to believe the critical views leveled at the two middle albums, but after listening to the samples I kind of heard the cautioning points of the reviews on iTunes for those albums. Now for me, the long loved fourth album, New World, in this context is a major comeback in quality and arrival to a maturity; maybe because she stopped worrying about trying to establish a succesful solo star career. She'd already arrived at a succesful career as song writer and recording artist, whether a mega star or not. The result in New World is relaxed, self knowing, uplifting, and beautiful.

Love this album!!

I had never heard of Karla Bonoff until I heard "All My Life" on the radio. I immediately went out and bought it, then loved every song on it!! Thanks Karla for your music and this album.

"Tell Me Why"

is one of those songs you can't do without!
