steadman?

okay, the sound is all right, but all the songs sound the same. you could probably only tell the difference in some of the lyrics. when i first listened to this album it just sounded like a lot of whining. i hope this band can do something a bit more original.

Cool

I liked this a lot... But i did think that i only need one or two of their songs; they are all so simular. My favs by Steadman are Wave Goodbye and two together.

I heard about this band years ago, around 2000 a uk import of Steadman came out. It was produced by Eric Faulkner, a former member of the 70's band Bay City Rollers. I see there still a bit of the teenage pop angst in these songs too.

Formerly known as the Dharmas, Steadman is a melodic Brit-pop, alternative pop/rock outfit that has been compared to Radiohead, Oasis, and Suede, among others. The band was formed in Hastings, England, in 1998, and after playing its share of U.K. gigs, the Dharmas signed with Arista's British division. But things didn't work out with Arista; eventually, the Dharmas were able to get out of the contract, change their name to Steadman and record independently.
