iTunes Review

The Cleveland-based Voegele opens Don’t Look Away with “Chicago,” a bouncy, folky tune with rootsy electric guitars and her soulful voice taking the lead. “Only Fooling Myself” is easily the album’s catchiest cut, empowered by a soaring chorus that homes in on Voegele’s vocal prowess. She exposes a brawnier side to her singing in “One Way or Another,” which juxtaposes a jangly tunefulness with tougher inflections that recall some of Ani DiFranco’s stronger moments. On her ballads, Voegele’s songwriting talents take higher flight. Check out the heartfelt “It’s Only Life” and the moving “Kindly Unspoken.”

I loved all of the acoustic versions on here. I love her voice and this really shows it off.

Kate Voegele is amazing. That's all I have to say.

this is the only album I have ever completely bought on a whim. It was a good investment because I at least partially like every single one of these songs: 1) Chicago - 9/10 From the 30 second sample I thought it wasn't that good, but this is really awesome 2) I Get It - 9/10 I am listening to the song right now and that's one of the songs where you can only like it more by listening more 3) Only Fooling Myself - 10/10 One of my favorite songs on the album. Upbeat, catchy, and a plus vocally, also 4) Top Of The World - 8/10 I don't LOVE it, but it's not bad, and the instrumentals are well-put together. 5) One Way Or Another - 9/10 At first, this did not particularly pop out, but now it has grown on me. 6) It's Only Life - 10/10 I really love this song and I will probably never tire of it. 7) Might Have Been - 9/10 This is a song to just laugh and sing along with. It's fun and catchy! 8) Facing Up - 10/10 I have not stopped singing this song in my head! It is amazingly catchy and awesome! 9) No Good - 10/10 I used to hate this song, but now I really love it! 10) Devil In Me - 10/10 I liked this song three months ago when I bought it, and I like it even more now. 11) I Won't Disagree - 9/10 Catchy, with a very interesting chorus and nice verses 12) Wish You Were - 10/10 One of my favorite songs on the album. It is meaningful and cool. 13) Kindly Unspoken - 10/10 I can't believe that this was originally by her! I definitely thought I'd heard it by a different singer and she re--did it. 14) You Can't Break A Broken Heart - 10/10 I HATED this song when I first got it. I heard it just yesterday and I loved it. When I realized it was this, I loved it. Average = 9/10 = 4.5/5 = 5/5 Well, there's my rewiew. I would reccomend this to Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, or Alanis Morisatte fans.

Kate is AMAZING!

I don't think that there is any room to deny the raw talent that Kate Voegele has. This CD is amazing and I am so happy that she has added these extra acoustic songs. It shows off her voice... and it is beautiful. If you ever ever ever get the chance to see her live... take it. A lot of artists don't sound as great live... but Kate sounds AMAZING live, and these extra track prove it! Enjoy the acoustic versions!

Before launching her dual careers as pop-minded songwriter and television actress, Kate Voegele grew up outside Cleveland in the suburban locale of Bay Village, Ohio, where she began singing in her church choir at age ten. Though her father often played guitar during his daughter's childhood, it wasn't until she entered high school that Voegele first picked up the instrument with any serious intent. Spurred on by a teenage breakup, she began to write pop/rock songs while seeking musical guidance...
