Album Review

Acoustic Live is a small treasure for longtime Nils Lofgren fans. Capturing Lofgren alone in front of an appreciative audience, knocking out such favorites as "You," "No Mercy" and "Keith Don't Go," plus six new songs. Even with the new songs, there are no real revelations, only a selection of little gems that will certainly bring a smile to the face of any longtime Lofgren fan.

Magic

Nils is a phenomenal performer, and this collection of 17 songs is a treasure. The guitar playing is magical. His fingers fly during songs like "Keith Don't Go" and "Mud In Your Eye," and Nils is no slouch when it comes to the piano, either. Whenever I play the song "You," I get people asking me who this artist is. Listeners who have not experienced Nils' music will find that this disc is a wonderful introduction to an extremely talented and underappreciated musician.

Black Books

Not a fan of Springsteen and don't know much about Lofgren, but after hearing Black Books during the end of a Sopranos episode, I have had that song playing in my head. An ethereal quality, nice delay soloing.

real live

This is a real live album from Nils finally on the i-tunes please listen it on a real hi-fi and you will se the performance. good job boy

Prior to the E-Street Band, Lofgren was a member of Neil Young's backing band Crazy Horse, and these associations have tended to dominate any mention of the guitarist's career, as any support for two legendary singer/songwriters would. But take away...
