iTunes Editors’ Notes

No Other Name represents a deliberate return to the Hillsong Church’s core mission of reaching out across cultural barriers with a unifying message of faith. Recorded live in February and March 2014, the album features new songs written and/or performed by such veteran worship leaders as Reuben Morgan, Ben Fielding, Matt Crocker, Joel Houston, Autumn Hardman, and Annie Garratt. No Other Name's keynote is set by the opening track, “This I Believe”: a simple yet powerful spiritual statement based on the Apostle’s Creed. The mood of deep reverence is sustained throughout the set, whether the focus shifts to uplifting pop/rock (“Heaven and Earth”), simmering Celtic-tinged folk (“Depths”), or exalted praise balladry (the title track). Of special note are “Broken Vessels” (a reframing of “Amazing Grace” in a contemporary setting) and “Calvary” (a melodically rich track based on a 1934 hymn by Mrs. Walter G. Taylor). “Mountain” shows off the Hillsong band’s prowess as an ensemble as it unfolds with a stately beauty worthy of its lyrical grandeur. Overall, this is a work of renewal, both spiritually and artistically.

Best Worship Album to Date

So, "No Other Name" is by far the greatest worship album to date!! Every single song is like a building up to the ultimate goal: To be welcomed home by Jesus, Himself. Songs like "Heaven & Earth" is a powerful anthem especially in the bridge when they sing inspired-lyrics from Isaiah "By His stripes, we are healed. By His death, we can live in Jesus name. In jesus name."

And then the beautifully composed song "Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)" sung by Taya Smith. When you hear the words "Oh I can see You now. Oh I can see the love in Your eyes. Laying Yourself down, raising up the broken to life." Then top that off with the chorus of Amazing Grace"... It doesn't get any more heavenlier than that.

And then there's the title song "No Other Name" (which I encourage you to buy right now). This brilliantly lays out the fame, the face, the grace, the praise and finally the name of Jesus,

Overall, even without the fast-paced style songs that they usually have with their recent albums, it makes sense (especially with the name change) why "Hillsong Worship" has geared towards worship songs rather than fast praise songs. Other than that, they have once again created a great avenue for the local church worldwide to sing these songs for days, months, and even years to come.

But to end, this is not about the singers, the writers, the musicians, the artwork people, or anyone else, this is about lifting up the name that is above every other name because there is... NO OTHER NAME.

NO OTHER NAME

Jesus. May His name be glorified forever and ever. Thank you Hillsong for your service. Can’t wait for the full release!

Four Words: MARTY SAMPSON IS BACK

This album deserves five stars simply for the fact that the legend, Marty Sampson, is back! I am so excited to listen to this album. "Mountain" is one of my favorite songs of Hillsong Live
