Apex Predator

Apex Predator

From his early days as one of the main post-Dre artists on Death Row through his yearlong Hip Hop Weekly series (with a new song released via MySpace every week between 2003 and 2004) and his career rebirth as a charter member of the Slaughterhouse crew, Long Beach emcee Crooked I has been putting in work for almost two decades now. More popular than ever, he still has a relentless work ethic and extensive discography that includes countless high-prolife collaborations, mixtapes, EPs, and group albums. Hot on the heels of self-released joints like On the House and Psalm 82:V6, he's finally dropping his official full-length studio debut. Set to futuristic-thug production from the likes of Snaz, Mr. Porter, Tabu, and Jonathan Elkaer, he serves up 11 tracks speaking on the corniness of Internet gangsters ("Yodo"), being a rap king ("Crowns"), and the ups and downs of various relationships ("A Lady Fell in Love"). A solid effort from an LBC vet.
