Customer Reviews

Their self-titled debut shows a band that can prog-n-roll and throw down the funk! “Fanfare” & “Noodlepoint” have all the bombast and majesty one expects from proggers, while “No Surprises” & “re:Bootsy” show a band which could just as easily share a bill with King’s X as they could Mahavishnu. For fans of Spock's Beard, Battles, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, etc.

Happy the Man

A very enjoyable progressive jazz-rock CD from Stan Whitaker and Frank Wyatt of Happy the Man with friends.

5 star prog!

It's always great to hear anything new come out of the HTM camp. I had high hopes for this collection and it delivers! It was an especially wise and calculated move from Whitaker and Wyatt to pair up with young lions DeMarco and Mack. Their input is evident in the spunky, robust arrangements, especially in No Surprises and Chapter 7.1. Instrumentally, the whole band is in high gear throughout!

Sadly, and like their mentors King Crimson, this lineup splintered after doing a handful of gigs. Hopefully some of the shows were recorded and will be released someday.
