Album Review

There's little doubt that these glockenspiel and vibraphone-laced renditions of Bob Marley songs are soothing, sounding as if Marley's songbook were being played by a giant music box with just the slightest trace of Jamaican rhythm left intact. It's disconcerting to hear street anthems like "Get Up, Stand Up," outlaw sagas like "I Shot the Sheriff," and cultural history like "Buffalo Soldier" reconfigured as little wind-chime sonatas, but hey, they're sure pretty in these arrangements and one could easily fall into dreamland (now that's a Wailers song that should have been on this collection — Bunny Wailer's "Dreamland") while listening to these decidedly non-rasta vibrations.

Peaceful tribute

This is one of the best (and cutest) covers ever! One would have to try very hard to not like this! Whoever is behind these releases uses good instrumentation, and sticks with thoughtful interpretations... You might as well play the real versions to your children, but these are perfect for quiet times.

Surprise Surprise

I got this one, plus Bjork and The Beatles all at one time (bundle purchase). I'm not a Marley fan, all I would need is a greatest hits album of his and I would be happy. With that being said, this is not only one of my favorites in the series, but my son loves it.

Great Nursery Album!!!

My wife and I love this album, and so does our 3-month old son. As soon as those first notes of One Love begin to play, he'll quiet down to listen. The simple rhythms of Bob Marley's songs translate so well into nursery music, much better than (I think) the U2 Rockabye album we got, those songs seems a tad too complex at times.
