Album Review

Agustín Lara was arguably Mexico's most celebrated songwriter, and his tunes were performed by some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Pérez Prado, Desi Arnaz, and Xavier Cugat, as well as pop legends such as Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. But Lara was an intelligent and artful interpreter of his material, and this collection features 12 of his greatest compositions performed by the man who created them. Sings His Songs includes "Imposible," "Maria Bonita," "Santa," "Veracraz," "Noche de Ronda," and many more.
