Orbit: A Great Band

I remember when I first saw these guys perform on the former Mtv show Oddville Mtv. I was around 11 or 12 years old at the time and they performed "Medicine" and I remember it being so catchy that I played it over in my head as I was falling asleep that very night. I bought the album a couple of days later and was floored. I was immediately drawn in and where many bands I was into at the time have been long forgotten, I am now 20 years old and Orbit's "Libido Speedway" continues to be a listen I still pull out and enjoy every year. This is just a great late 90's alternative rock album. The songwriting is solid, catchy, and moving. Don't miss out on this, if "Medicine" doesn't draw you in you don't love music. Get into it!

Any lost gem

It seems that there were a lot of great "one album" bands in the 90's. This band is definitely one of them. What a great CD this is from start to finish. The more you listen, the better it gets! It makes me wonder why great bands like this never went anywhere....Definitely worth buying, it's not an album with one good/well known song, ie: Medicine, the whole CD is excellent!!

College music can be good

I bought this album by accident when it was released. I was looking for a different group but got these guys instead and I'm happy I did. Their sound is a great collection of things that were happening in the 90's.

Formed: 1994 in Boston, MA

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s

Rising out of the Boston indie rock scene that earlier spawned their chief influences the Pixies, Orbit's brand of punky, poppy alternative rock was initially the product of a power trio: guitarist/vocalist Jeff Robbins, bassist Mark Brookner, and drummer Paul Buckley. They got together in early 1994 and started playing around the Boston area, and drummer Buckley soon formed his own record label, Lunch. After several smaller releases, Orbit issued their full-length debut, La Mano, on Lunch in 1995....
