R.I.P. To Punk's Last Hope; Alas, No More..

I guess the pressure to adopt the EXACT same style as every single other band on Don Giovanni records was just too tempting. Now the label has 50 instead of 49 jangle pop indie folk bands for you to choose from.

Well I'll hang on to my amazing copy of "Bodies and Control and Money and Power" as a quaint little reminder of what once was... and sadly, what could have been.

Everything I want from a record

The range of this record is sooooooo what I've been looking for. Songs are everything from fun and sarcastic to profound and personal to intellectual and challenging. A record I've listened to more than any other I've purchased in the last 3 years.

Washington, D.C.-based post-punk quartet Priests formed in late 2011, creating raucous blasts of noisy, politically charged punk fronted by vocalist Katie Alice Greer with guitarist G.L. Jaguar, drummer Daniele Daniele, and bassist Taylor Mulitz. The project was the first musical venture for most of the players (though both Greer and Daniele would later join the revolving-door cast of fellow D.C. punk intellectuals Chain & the Gang), and the newly formed Priests quickly recorded a demo-like cassette...
