In Joshua's own words...

I found this on myspace and wanted to post it. No one could have said it any better. Enjoy: "friends, after much deliberation over content, mood, feel, etc., the record i've been needing to make for years is finally here and i am pleased to announce that same shoes 2nd verse is available for online purchase and digital download..."

"a word of caution: this is not "your love, my home." i haven't abandon the style of the first record completely but i have abandoned the idea that i am posing as a pop classical artist wanna be. those of you who've been to my shows know the separation there and Same Shoes offers another look at what i'm about, where i've been, and where i'm going. it's thematic in nature and is meant to take you on a journey thru the ups and downs of loss and heartache then perhaps whisk you away to a hopeful place where love can still abound in the midst of great loss. the style, per song, is apropos to the lyric. i felt that it was unnecessary to say, ' it's time for an up tempo, or a slow ballad, or something in 6/8.' i just wrote and the pieces came together within the ilk of that great hope ... "

"... and you get up again even when you can't get up again and you can start again to walk again and it doesn't matter if you finish because you might not ever and that feels more than perfect. "

rare talent and soul

joshua has such a unique and remarkable talent. definitely deserving wider recognition. just bought this and already know it is destined to be a fav for me and my wife. sending a few off as gifts to friends as well

Subdued, hopeful but still hurting...

Josh is a rare human being. This album demonstrates that while bringing us so close to home. Those of you who have followed some of his life know the significance of some of the stories in his songs. Pieces of the real Josh come through the tales of the bard. Sitting through long nights and lonely days, not sure of where this was going, not sure if you could dare to hope again. But love wins in the end. Isn't that the greater Story? And that is the story you are living out. Love gives room for growth, love hopes all things, believes all things... It's been a long road, brother, there's more to go. Thanks for sharing your journey with such poetry and passion. P.S. - Apple, he did the entire thing in Garageband on a G4, seriously! You guys need to do a story on that or something.

With a booming baritone voice and an opera background, singer and songwriter Joshua Payne brings a unique set of skills to the pop table.
