Customer Reviews

Either you understand it, or you don't.

Given that the music industry has reached a point where music doesn't have to actually be good, but rather simply has to either have plenty of girls dancing in suggestive ways in the video (-ella-ella? video-ella-ella?) or has to be as unsophisticated and unintelligent as possible, it's truly difficult to find music that's worth listening to. There's no less of it than there usually is - it's just buried under miles and miles of mediocrity and, worse, bad music. This album left me speechless the first time I streamed it on Matthew Good's site and it's left me speechless now that I've purchased it, as well. This is truly what smart, emotional, powerful music is. Each song depends as much on the music as it does on the lyrics. Matt has truly beat himself here - he delivered two albums before that were both fantastic, and yet has now successfully blended the beauty and elegance of Avalanche with the kick and lyrics of White Light Rock & Roll Review to make an album in which it's hard to find flaws. The audience this can have is only limited to the number of people who enjoy intelligent music. This is unique, different - this is like nothing you've ever heard before. The original, almost strange samples are impeccably placed. In short - buy this album. Click "buy album" and don't even look back - once you start listening, you'll know what I mean.

Another Masterpiece from the Master!

Amazing album, Matt outdoes himself once again. The US needs to take notice of this stellar Canadian artist. If you haven't heard of Matthew Good, do yourself a favor and check him out, you will not be dissapointed.

Blown Away!

I'm totally new to this guy but I'm sitting here listening and I can't believe how amazing he is. This is an artist everyone needs to pay attention to.

Canadian singer/songwriter Matthew Good rose to prominence in the mid-'90s fronting the popular alt-rock group Matthew Good Band. A crafty songwriter with a strong melodic sense and a somewhat brash outspokenness, Good led MGB from regional success in their native Vancouver to Juno-winning, double-platinum status over the course of four albums before the group disbanded in 2002. The following year, he made his solo debut with Avalanche, a more brooding and thoughtful stylistic departure that featured...
