iTunes Review

Filled with torch songs influenced by hip-hop, Lana Del Rey wrote and recorded Born to Die in a chilling fashion. These noir-shaded numbers are mostly built on orchestral accouterments and subtle vocal samples. Del Rey’s husky narrative lingers like smoke clouds, leaving wafts of rhythmic phrasings delivered by an icy, heartbroken femme fatale.

Classier than anything I've ever heard

Let me preface this by saying that I would have never been caught dead with this kind of music before I heard Lizzy Grant aka Lana Del Rey. But I just had to hear Video Games once and I have been - this is such a strong word to toss around but it's totally necessary here - ADDICTED. Her voice is an absolute shell-shock and far too real to shake away the goosebumps I get every time I listen to one of her songs. She has risen past the sex appeal iconicism that is packaged with every new female artist (though I must say she is drop-dead gorgeous) and actually offered up competent, soulful, haunting music to the public. Definitely check out "Born to Die", "Video Games", "Blue Jeans", "Off to the Races", and "Summertime Sadness". Forget it, buy the whole thing. It's no doubt Lana Del Rey has slayed me and she'll do the same to you.

I love this style so much. She's a perfect creative, and brilliant artist. Her music makes me think, she makes me feel relaxed and melancholy. Her melodies run through my head. Highly recommended.

There's literally nothing negative to say.
