OH DEER - Adrienne Pierce album

This album is excellent. Adrienne Pierce is kind of like FEIST, if you like that sort of sound, but I would also add that besides being really solid pop she has a bit of an edge. Really great pop tunes with a bite. Super smart lyrics with great twists and some wicked irony thrown in (which I am particularly partial to!) I am having a hard time deciding which song is my favourite. First it was BLACK SAND because it just makes me think i am in Hawaii and it is hard NOT to dance to it. But then I fell in love with ARC DE TRIOMPHE because how can you resist a love song about suicidal tendencies with a marching band intro? And then I got hooked on COME OVER TO MY HOUSE because besides being a really cool song it is so satirical---made me think of the JONATHAN SWIFT story "a modest proposal" where he suggests solving poverty issues by having people eat their own children---and i can so relate to the challenges of living in LA which is a great city but also has some downsides. And I absolutely adore the Sirah One cameo on COME OVER TO MY HOUSE too!!! OH. I could just go on and many great songs---it is just best to buy the whole album. ;D

One of the Best of the Year

I preordered this album from Adrienne Pierce's website several months ago and haven't been able to stop listenting to it since. It's a shame she's not more popular than she is because I would love to turn on the radio and hear her voice, as I'm sure many others would as well. There's not one song on this entire album that I skip over, but a couple of my favorites are "Museum" and "Guilty of Everything."

This is a definite "MUST BUY" for anyone who's a fan of intelligent pop that's slightly more artsy than the mainstream.

Adrienne Pierce? Oh Deer!

I don't even know where to start. This album showcases Adrienne Pierce's voice and music beautifully. It also shows a side to her music that I've never heard. She manages to branch out into new territory on certain songs all while keeping her signature sound. My favorite tracks would be Monsters, Winner Takes All, and Telescope.
I cannot wait to hear more, as I know this is only the beginning.
