Meditative, Kottkesque Music

If Leo Kottke had a younger brother, he would be Michael Gulezian. This is an enjoyable album that explores the nooks and crannies of 6 and 12-string guitars, as if a microphone caught Leo in a deep reflection. It's a spiritual album. The songs move with sincerity, and are more about texture (existence) than melody. The rhythm is free: no click tracks. Complex syncopating picking alternates with deeply saturated harmonics and strums. "Michael Hedges Goes to Heaven" and "Oh Suzannah" are especially unique, wonderful and radio-ready. If you enjoy the sounds of 6 and 12-string guitars and like to listen to wind chimes, this album is for you.

Alive with every listen.

In Gulezian's expressive grasp, the acoustic guitar is nothing short of a horizon. This album is no exception.
