Album Review

On Okropong he presents several traditional songs sung in a vigorous call and response style to the accompaniment of many African hand drums and gongo bells. Also included are two original instrumentals featuring lively melodies played on a soft-toned wooden xylophone. Obo Addy multi-tracks himself to create his complex drum orchestra and chorus, playing all the instruments on all but one cut on this dynamic and highly rhythmic album. ~ Backroads Music/Heartbeats, Rovi

Obo is truely a master

I had the priviledge of meeting Obo for a class I took in college, and besides the fact that he flawlessly performs his music just as he has been for his whole life, but he also has a warm and sincere personality that makes you hang on his every word as well as his every drum beat. he is amazing, very talented, and a true treaure on earth. this album is very relaxing and great to put on while doing homework. the rythms are sensational, and the singing is so intoxicating and serene. it's a great buy, you won't regret it, even if you are not all that into African music.

Luv'er of ALL things African

I LUV!!!!! This Album! Beautiful, Strong and Impacting! Bravo!!!
