The absolute best
When it comes to Irish music, this is the best there is. Despite being together for barely four years (1975-1979), no group (except maybe the Chieftains) has had a greater influence on modern Irish traditional music than the Bothy Band. Leading current groups like Altan and Lunasa credit the Bothies as the single biggest influence on their work. The sound on this iTunes edition isn't as good as an earlier CD version, but the music is still essential to any fans of traditional Irish music.
The Maids of Mitchelstown
I absolutely love the song The Maids of Mitchelstown. It's very moving and emotional for me
and brings back memories for me.
Formed: 1975 in Ireland
